Anonymous Leaflet Fact-checking

We have been contacted by local residents regarding an anonymous leaflet circulating in the area which contains a number of claims about the proposed Health & Wellbeing Hub.

We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the proposals, along with helpful suggestions that we look forward to incorporating.

However, we recognise that the anonymous leaflet may have caused concern and would like to reassure residents that:

  • The hub will improve safety on a currently disused brownfield site with known antisocial behaviour.

  • The pharmacy will not include methadone services

  • The NHS space is being developed to prevent the closure of a local GP practice currently serving over 15,000 residents.

  • Brent Council will maintain the freehold ownership of the entire site.

  • The community hall space lease will be owned and managed by a non-profit charitable organisation

  • The NHS space is mostly funded by the GP practice and is not designed to generate profit other than enabling the practice to remain open.

The proposed hub replaces an unsafe, disused site with a safe, staffed, community health hub that benefits everyone.

Please see below detailed information regarding the claims in the anonymous leaflet and a shareable FAQ document.
